Ukraine
I know there are things that we can choose,
We can create our own fairy tales,
We can forget the things we had to lose,
But we remember our place of birth.
I can’t recall the first inhale I’ve made
And I don’t know the time I do my last.
The only thing that I can do is wait
And live my life, because the time is fast.
My parents told me I should always know,
That I’m Ukrainian, because Ukraine’s the place,
Where I was born, the place where I was grown,
No matter where remain my future ways.
I want to be a patriot, I’ve never been,
But I’m too young to help my motherland
I know how many things I haven’t seen,
Because they tried to keep them underhand.
I know that our world is full of pain
And I don’t want to know the tragic feeling.
That’s why I just accept the stuff I have,
Not understanding if it has another meaning.
I wouldn’t like to live somewhere else
Despite the fact that there’s a paradise,
Fantastic life sometimes just has no sense
Because it makes us feel so blank inside.
I’m proud of the customs and traditions
And they don’t lose the relevance through years.
We want to prove the world our ambitions
We are the nation and we’ll win for all I care.
